Alive thanks to hero friend

A WOORINEN resident who almost died while waiting for an ambulance has called on the State Government to improve ambulance services throughout regional areas.

Peter O'Connor was at home with his family on April 29 when he fell ill, collapsed and stopped breathing.

While he has little recollection of the events which followed, he said he owed his life to a family friend who was staying at the property and managed to revive him with the help of the ambulance call taker while waiting for paramedics to arrive imitation van cleef & Arpels necklace.

Suffering from severe asthma, this wasn't the first time the family have had to call for medical assistance. But, after Mr O'Connor failed to respond to his nebuliser, his wife Michelle described the situation as "absolute chaos".

She said she was too distraught to assist and watched helplessly as her husband began to fall out of consciousness.

"I was in hysterics," she said.

"It was a very frightening experience waiting for the ambulance to arrive.

"We never thought we'd come to something like this."

"What he did that night with no prior experience to be able to listen and keep a level head while following instructions he did an amazing job." Peter O'Connor

As Mr O'Connor's condition began to worsen, family friend Nathan Bradley, 20, who was staying at the property, began cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

"I wouldn't be here now if it wasn't for what he did," Mr O'Connor said.

"What he did that night with no prior experience to be able to listen and keep a level head while following instructions he did an amazing job.

"He's a hero in my eyes van cleef & Arpels bracelet fake."

A humble Mr Bradley said he just did what he had to do.

"I'd never experienced anything like this before," he said.

"Ironically we have a first aid course next week."

After spending some time in hospital, Mr O'Connor continues to recover at home replica van cleef & Arpels necklace.

"It's only now that it has hit home," he said.

Praising the efforts of Ambulance Victoria, Mr O'Connor believes an ongoing pay dispute between the government and paramedics needs to be resolved in a bid to improve rural services.
