So this here is a culmination new balance shoes slip on of an obsession and too much spare time. I’ve been worked on this since 2008 on and off to get it all up to date, I have then since updated it sporadically when new colourways release. If I get time I try and update it but I don’t have the time I did years ago.

After adding this racing flat to my current marathon training, here are my thoughts.

Right out of the box, these new balance 1500 black white grey shoes provided a comfortable, glove-like fit. The Fantom Fit technology paired with a semi-gusseted tongue delivered a desirably snug fit, securing the mid-foot without feeling overly tight anywhere. A slight upper change from the previous version reveals fewer overlays on the lateral side of the shoe, which delivered a more comfortable fit than its predecessor. I wore them with socks and my feet felt pleasantly hugged with no pinch at all to my pinky toes, but the interior is definitely smooth enough to go sock free as Kienle had envisioned in the original design process.
