GREENSBORO, N. Ryan Succop Jersey .C. -- No. 7 Duke proved its anything but a one-man show. These Blue Devils showed they also can win rather easily when they spread the scoring around. Duke routed Elon 86-48 on Tuesday despite not producing a 20-point scorer for the first time this season. Andre Dawkins scored 15 points, Rodney Hood had 13 points and freshman Jabari Parker had 12 points and a season-high-tying 10 rebounds for Duke (11-2). "We didnt know who was scoring," Dawkins said. "We just knew we were putting points up." The Blue Devils never trailed and had little trouble winning their fifth straight, shooting 48.5 per cent, forcing 22 turnovers and turning them into 25 points. "We just wanted to get into their legs," Hood said. "We wanted to contest them, make them take tough shots the whole night and we did that, and I could see the frustration on their face. They got a little tired (and) it was because of our defensive pressure." At least one Blue Devil reached the 20-point mark in each of their previous 12 games -- and in 10 of them, it was Parker. But they had little need to put the scoring burden on any one player in this one. "It was one of those days where everybody played hard and well, and they embraced playing defence," coach Mike Krzyzewski said. Elons 48 points were a season-low allowed by Duke, and at no point in the game did the Phoenix (7-7) have more field goals than turnovers. "We were beaten in every situation," Elon coach Matt Matheny said. Ryley Beaumont and Lucas Troutman scored 11 points each for the Phoenix, who shot 35 per cent and fell to 1-26 against ACC opponents since their 1999 move to Division I. Dawkins set season highs with 20 points and six 3-pointers three days earlier against Eastern Michigan. He finished this one with five 3s -- including four during the first-half run that gave Duke an insurmountable lead. Rasheed Sulaimon and Quinn Cook each had 11 points for the Blue Devils, who can finally focus on conference play. The ACCs preseason favourites visit Notre Dame on Saturday in their league opener. Hood -- a 17.6-point scorer -- was 4 of 12 in this one after managing just eight points against Eastern Michigan while playing through an illness. But the Blue Devils didnt need much from him to end a two-game losing streak at the Greensboro Coliseum -- where theyve won seven ACC tournaments under Krzyzewski and in a few months will go for their eighth. Dawkins wasnt around for the last loss -- an 83-74 clunker in the quarterfinals of last years ACC tournament -- because he spent last season away from the team for personal reasons. But he certainly shot better than he did in his last visit here -- Dukes stunning loss to 15th-seeded Lehigh in the 2012 NCAA tournament, in which Dawkins missed seven of his nine attempts. He turned the decisive run in this one into a personal game of around the horn, hitting 3s from the corner, wing and key during the 22-7 run that effectively ended this one at halftime. "When the first one goes in, thats when its kind of, Lets see how far this can go," Dawkins said. "Its easy when youve got teammates that are always looking for you, setting screens for you, things like that. All Ive got to do is catch the ball and shoot it." His 3 from the right corner off an inbounds pass capped the burst and made it 26-9 with 7 1/2 minutes before the break. "Dawkins 3s are daggers," Matheny said. Pointing out the Duke guards knack for swishes, he added: "I dont know if hes even touched the rim." Cook gave Duke its first 20-point lead when his 3 from the corner made it 33-11 with about 3 1/2 minutes left in the half. The Blue Devils then reeled off the first eight points of the second half and went up by 30 on Sulaimons 3 with 11 minutes left. Since making the Division I jump, the Phoenix have yet to finish closer than 22 points against Duke. "They knocked us down," Matheny said, "and we didnt get up quickly enough." Steve McNair Jersey . Leaning forward with both hands on his knees, Buffon appeared to be resting or somehow trying to withstand the rain. Or perhaps the 36-year-old goalkeeper and Italy captain was reflecting on this: He is only the third player in history to be part of five World Cup squads, along with Germany great Lothar Matthaus and former Mexico goalkeeper Antonio Carbajal. Jack Conklin Jersey . The 26-year-old Redditch, England, native played three of his past four seasons under Rennie with the Carolina RailHawks of the North American Soccer League. http://www.titansstoreonline.com/Black-64-Adoree-Jackson-Womens-Jersey/ .Y. - Alex Smith and the Kansas City Chiefs didnt flinch in the face of adversity.FORTALEZA, Brazil -- Watching from the bench, Luis Suarez saw just how much his teammates miss him. Uruguay was overrun 3-1 Friday by Group D underdog Costa Rica at the World Cup, a stunning result for the team that reached the semifinals four years ago and had every reason to think it could repeat that in Brazil. Even with Suarez staying on the bench for the entire game after failing to fully recover from knee surgery, coach Oscar Tabarez fielded a side that included eight players from the 2010 team. But after going ahead through a first-half penalty, Uruguay was taken apart on counterattacks as Costa Rica scored three times in the second half to open Group D with a major upset. "We made mistakes today that we havent made for a long time. Its too early to explain this," Tabarez said. "Football means that sometimes you have to lose. You cant lose heart, you just have to improve." The Uruguayans took the lead in the 24th minute when Edinson Cavani converted a spot kick that was awarded after captain Diego Lugano tumbled to the ground with defender Junior Diaz tugging at his waist. But after the goal, Uruguay lost the initiative and Costa Rica -- seen as a massive underdog in a group that also includes England and Italy -- fought back after the break. Costa Ricas lone striker Joel Campbell led most of the teams counterattacks and finally delivered the equalizer in the 54th, driving in a ball headed down by Celso Borges to beat goalkeeper Fernando Muslera. Oscar Duarte dived past the outstretched foot of Uruguays Cristian Stuani to head in the winner for the Central Americans, and substitute Marcos Urena added the third with six minutes left, catching out Muslera to slot the ball in from a tight angle. "We spotted that they had weaknesses and we looked at those. We worked hard onn headers and ways to dominate in the air and we did that tonight," Costa Rica coach Jorge Luis Pinto said. Derrick Morgan Jersey. The disastrous night in injury time when Maxi Pereira was sent off for a clumsy foul on Campbell. Pereira will be suspended from the next game against England, while Tabarez said Suarezs participation for next Thursdays match in Sao Paolo is also uncertain. Diego Forlan, the player of the tournament in 2010, took Suarezs place in attack. But in Fortaleza, the 35-year-old forward only displayed a single flash of his former greatness: Curling a deadly ball toward the Costa Rican a minute before halftime, in an effort punched out by in-form keeper Keylor Navas. Forlan was eventually substituted on the hour for Nicolas Lodeiro. Even without Suarez, the team doesnt need a tactical overhaul to bounce back from the defeat, Tabarez said. "Weve being playing this way for eight years. I dont see why we should do anything different right know," he said. "It worked in South Africa and after that. Defence is not a dirty word." Pinto, the Costa Rica coach, was less philosophical. "What counted is that we stayed calm and kept creating opportunities against a very tough team," Pinto said. "We have great respect for Uruguay but we werent that impressed tonight." ------ Lineups Uruguay: Fernando Muslera, Diego Lugano, Diego Godin, Walter Gargano (Alvaro Gonzalez, 60), Cristian Rodriguez, Diego Forlan (Nicolas Lodeiro, 60), Cristian Stuani, Maxi Pereira, Egidio Arevalo, Edinson Cavani, Martin Caceres.
