The nike cortez black friday sale first hit shelves 45 years ago, offering runners a uniquely lightweight sneaker, and blessing O.G. sneakerheads with one of the very first streetwear classics. Its imprint is recognizable in television and film: a skateboard-riding Farrah Fawcett rocked the red, white and blue sneaker in an episode of Charlie's Angels, and the 1972-issue Nike Cortez even had screen time in Forrest Gump, which later inspired the red-white-and-blue reboots to be marketed as, yep, "Forrest Gumps".
In honor of its 45th anniversary, nike cortez flyknit is delivering and impressive lineup of new Nike Cortez styles and dropping collaborations with brands like Nordstrom. The sneaker behemoth has even conscripted "it girl" Bella Hadid to introduce them to a new streetwear-crazed generation. The first reboot was the "Nike Cortez OG." It looks nearly identical to the 1972 original save for a more durable leather upper, a lower-cut fit around the ankle and improves cushioning. While the original design is in tact, Nike has brilliantly tailored the Cortez to 2017 with its buzzy "Flyknit material." It is available in the original red, white and blue colorway or black and white.
nike shoes has partnered with the International Girl Crew, a global collective of creative women, on a NIKEiD Cortez Classic that reflects their shared passion for travel, culture and community. Inspired by the classic design of the Cortez, the shoe comes in three color palette options: a neutral “Los Angeles” style, a bright “London” style and a clean “New York” style, each with pops of color on the midsoles, graphics on the foot beds and numbers on the heel. “The London palette is inspired by the iconic colorway of the Overground, the most air-conditioned line in London,” says Sharmadean Reid, founding member of the International Girl Crew.
nike shoes thanksgiving sale has joined forces with Olivia Kim, VP, Creative Projects at Nordstrom, for a special NIKEiD release of the iconic Cortez. The premium pair in turn draws inspiration from Kim’s favorite navy nylon/suede Cortez from the mid-1970s. The classic colorway here welcomes some new design aspects, including pink detailing on the midsole and retro-esque touches via the aged sole and unfinished tongue. The shoe then arrives with white, black and navy nylon and suede upper options, in addition to navy and white Swoosh options.
