MOGADISHU Kyle Palmieri Jersey , Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Africa Union peacekeepers and Somalia government forces on Wednesday arrested six Al-Shabaab fighters in a joint security operation at Lego neighborhood in lower Shabelle region, southern Somalia.

Somali's government official in Lego, Abukar Isak said the operation was conducted in Jame'o, Yakbari-weyne and Lego regions, adding that it was not clear whether key leaders of the Islamist group were killed during the operation.

""Somali National Army with support from AMISOM conducted a joint security operation against Al-Shabaab terrorist group here in Lower Shabelle region earlier today. We arrested six suspects and recovered weapons during the operation, we believe they are Al-Shabaab fighters,"" Isak said.

He said the suspects who are being held in custody will be interrogated with a view to getting more information from them that may lead to the arrest of their colleagues still at large in the region.

The Al-Qaida-linked group has engaged the AU peacekeepers and the Somali government in near daily attacks especially in Mogadishu and regions bordering Kenya.

The group has lost key towns in the south and central Somalia in the past three years, but still carries out deadly bomb attacks in the main towns including the capital of Somalia-Mogadishu.

XINING, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Building work began Monday on an incubator for Tibetan language information technology development in northwest China's Qinghai Province Monday, part of a wider project to boost local economic and social progress.

With 77.8 million yuan (11.5 million U.S. dollars) in financial backing, Yongzin big data center, which is in Gonghe County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, will include data, product display and training departments.

"Yongzin" is the country's first Tibetan language search engine. It was launched in August last year.

The incubator aims to attract small and medium Internet enterprises to provide governance, economy, culture and education in areas inhabited by Tibetans.

"Currently there is a dearth of Internet enterprises in Tibetan areas, which means there is a lack of valuable, unique Tibetan brands," said Tselo, director of the Tibetan language working committee in Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.

The incubator, which will be put into operation next year, will provide preferential policies to attract small companies.

Since 2013, Qinghai, with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, has channeled 14 million yuan into several projects related to Tibetan information technology development.

BELGRADE, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Workers of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Serbia (FCAS) on Tuesday ended a month-long strike after management of the company made an agreement with the workers' union in negotiations mediated by the government.

The agreement between the management of FCAS and the Independent Union of employees of FCAS was signed by their representatives in the building of the Serbian government at the presence of the Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and government members.

The government said in a press release that the agreement will be valid for three years, and it foresees the salaries to be harmonized each February with the official inflation projected by the National Bank of Serbia.

In 2017 salaries will be thus increased by 2.2 percent, while in 2018 they will be increased by 4.5 percent.

Problems in FCAS, subsidiary of the Italian car giant Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, started when the management last year decided to fire around one third of workers, but, according to the union, maintained the same level of production which led to overwork.

Around 90 percent of workers supported the strike which started on June 27, asking for better working conditions and higher income.

After the signing, Brnabic said that the government had to intervene in order to ensure that the deal is reached, otherwise, production in a company which employs more than 2,500 people would stop comple.
